Autumngold Laureate Alabama
"Mitch"

Mitch was bred by Saye
Clement (Autumngold) and Kim Aston and Peter Culumovic (LAureate).
He was co-owned for
several years by Saye and Lyn Krivanek (Dundee Shelties) and spent
many years living with Lyn.
In 2005 Mitch returned to Canada to spend his "retirement years"
with Saye, occasionally visiting other
breeders to stand at stud. Some comments from those who knew and
loved Mitch...
Liz and Bobby Oliver: "When Mitch lived with us, Bobby named him "Mr
Happy Boy". And he was just that.
No matter where, no matter what, he was always smiling and
dancing. He was and will continue to be Saye's heart dog.
What a joyful dog and tremendous legacy."
Val Bindon "Mitch had the absolute best personality plus that I had
seen in a Sheltie for a long time.
Although he wasn't a really "flashy" tri-colour, his personality and
conformation certainly outweighed this aspect."
Sherrie Sparling: "Mitch arrived here in 2007, immediately after
returning to Canada, and stayed with us for7 months.
He came out of his airline crate wagging his tail and bouncing
happily off my legs - that is how I will always remember him
- happy, eager for whatever lay ahead, and a friend to everyone he met. He
was a great little dog.
Our hearts go out to Saye, Karen, Evan and Chris Clement, to
who loved this dog so very very much.
You gave him the best anyone could have expected, and more...."
Lyn Krivanek: "Of course, since Mitch lived here for a number of
years before he went back to live with Saye,
we can testify to his wonderful temperament. He never knew a
stranger, always had a smile on his face - and we
missed his cheerful presence when he left to return to his beloved
Saye and family. I'm so sorry that he wasn't
there longer, as he was adored by Saye and I know she is
heartbroken.
Our sympathies also to Kim and Pete, who shared Mitch with us all
those years ago."

PLASTIC
BAGS ARE DEADLY TO YOUR DOG!
In honor
of our precious Ella's
memory, I am crusading in an effort to let everyone know
that this can and does happen and hopefully I can save
someone else from the same
agonizing pain!
Our 9 month
old Sheltie puppy, Ella, suffered a tragic, sudden,
senseless death. She suffocated on a bag liner that
was inside a box of Cheez-its
snack crackers. We were out for the evening and
someone had left a box of Cheez-its within Ella's reach.
She put her head in the bag inside the
box to get to the crackers. The
bag came out of the box but she couldn't get the bag off
her head. We came home and found her dead from
suffocation. It doesn't seem possible, that a dog couldn't
get a bag off their head, but they can' t.
I
have since learned that this occurs more often than you
would imagine. I learned of a family whose 6 year old
Labrador got hold of a Doritos bag when they weren't
looking. They found him dead with the bag over his head,
having died the same way as Ella. I also learned from the
man who handled Ella's cremation that he had FIVE
other dogs which died in this same way within one MONTH!
Please! Make sure that ALL
PLASTIC BAGS AND BOXES WITH BAG LINERS IN THEM (chips,
snack crackers, cookies, cereal, etc.) are out of your
pet's reach!!!!!!
This
tragedy has been a tremendous blow for our family! I have
tried to be strong, but the whole scenario has played out in
my head over and over and I have been a total mess! I
cannot begin to understand the senselessness of this and my
heart is absolutely broken! Ella
was so young and full of life...an adorable, sweet,
smart, loving dog, and her life was cut short way too soon!
Please
help me honor Ella and save someone else from this horrific
tragedy
by passing this email to as many people as you know!
Thank
you!
