About Us

Jubilee Shelties began
many years ago in Texas. It was a dream, a notion, and a learning experience
all the way. In 1978 I bought my first obedience sheltie, Sonny. Since then we
have grown and learned and moved forward, and I was very lucky to have had
some of the "great" sheltie breeders as my mentors over the years.
I will be forever grateful
to Vicki King of Springtime, Ken & Ann Flessas of
O'Davak, Ralph and Karen
Elledge of Karral, Rick Carr, Randy Carr,
Nancy Keen, and the many other Texas sheltie folk who showed me the world of
shelties. A special thanks to my friend, Sue Rhodes, who helped found Jubilee
and began our journey down this path. We started, stopped, started again, and
finally acquired what would become the foundation of Jubilee's shelties,
Am/Can Ch Barwoods Ruffles N Lace, "Maggie."
Thanks so much to Barbara Thompson for allowing this wonderful girl to become
part of the Jubilee family!
At one of my first ASSA
Nationals, I met Saye Clement of
Autumngold, and Kim Aston & Peter
Culumovic of Laureate, both in Ontario. Those
friendships have proven to be invaluable! More to learn,
more growth, more changes for the best.
We strive to breed and
show the absolute best that shelties have to offer - not only beauty and sound
structure, but also brains, sweet, sweet expression, and solid, happy
temperaments.
Feel free to contact us
about any current or upcoming litters, or recent activities.
2003 Brought Many
Changes
I met the most wonderful,
supportive partner, Bobby Oliver, and married him in January of 2003. Our
friend, Donna Crabtree, GorDon Shelties, set
everything up for us and we had a beautiful wedding on the beach in Hawaii.
Her dog, Micky, was Best Man. Thank you, Donna!
Bobby's love for me and the sheltie gang is above and beyond the call. He not
only contributes daily in care and socialization of the shelties, but he
returned the joy to my life. Without him, Jubilee Shelties would not be where
we are today.
2004 A Big Year for
Jubilee
We added and finished our
first male, Am/Can Ch Laureate Latitude, "Alfie".
Thanks to Kim & Peter for letting "Alfie" join the
Jubilee family. I cannot express how much I appreciate their decision to share
this wonderful boy with us!
Jubilee has also recently
forged a partnership with Autumngold Shelties of
Ontario. Our first co-bred litters are in the works and we expect this to
blossom into a great future for both of us. Jubilee has truly become an
international family.
2005 Held Continued
Success
BIG NEWS: We finally have
a web site!! Thank you, Amy!
During the summer Jubilee
and Autumngold branched out into my first
AOAC's. See the
Hopefuls
page for more details.
Jubilee would like to
announce the acquisition of Pedigree Software by Chris Clement. We hope to
have the transfer finalized by December, 2005. For more information about this
easy-to-use pedigree-building software and how to purchase, please click on
the Pedigree Software Link on the
Home page.
2006 Big Changes at
Jubilee
Beginning in January 2006 Bobby
and I moved forward with our new house, 1900 square feet of dog and people
friendly space. The deconstruction, new construction, and the move took longer
than we anticipated but at last we moved in! We LOVE our new surroundings -
and the dogs feel the same way!
2007 The AOACs Have Grown On
Us!
Interesting what the
acquisition of one little blue girl 2 years ago has led to! Skyehaven
Labyrinth (aka Brynna the Brat) was bred in 2006 to Can Ch Autumngold Laureate
Alabama, and gave us a gorgeous litter of four babies. We have kept two - a
tri girl and a Bi-blue girl, and are thrilled with both of these babies. We
also acquired a tricolour bitch from Apple Acres Shelties, and have a darling
tri daughter of hers growing up here as well. The sables are wondering WHAT on
earth has happened to their eyesight - colors everywhere they look!
We have some very exciting
breedings planned for 2009 - check our
Nursery
page frequently for updates.
